Being on the Hough Springs Ranch is like stepping back into history. Selzer springs were discovered on the property in the late 1800's and a resort and post office were established in the 1880's. After a fire in the early 1900's the improvements were not replaced, but evidence of this can still be found on site, such as the collapsed well, building foundations, and even an olive tree likely to be over 100 years old. Much of the 730+/- acres is gently sloped to flat with open meadows, heritage oaks, and easy access. Three miles of the North Fork of Cache Creek runs through the center of the property. This includes the confluence with Spanish Creek. The property borders BLM on all sides and is very close to the Mendocino National Forest. Indian Valley Reservoir is one mile away when full.
